A drug interaction occurs when the effect of a particular drug is altered
when it is taken with another drug, or with food. Below and in the following
pages, we outline how Strattera may interact with other drugs.
Strattera and Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOI)
This combination of medicines could cause severe complications. You should
not take Strattera with an MAOI medicine or within 14 days of stopping a MAOI
drug. Some common MAOIs include Nardil® (phenelzine sulfate) and Parnate®
(tranylcypromine sulfate). Taking Strattera and a MAOI drug together or within
two weeks of each other can cause serious side effects or be life-threatening.
